To make sure you’re 100% happy with our service, here are some of the things we do:

  • We protect your warranty. We use OE quality parts (original equipment) to make sure the warranty of your vehicle is never compromised.
  • We stay in touch. When servicing or repairing your vehicle, we’ll always contact you to let you know the work required, as well as the cost involved. We don’t want you to get any nasty surprises.
  • We test, test, test. All of our new and used vehicles pass through stringent quality testing before we are willing to put our name on them.
  • We offer value for money. We’ll always pursue the option which will give you the best value for money when it comes to your vehicle. We don’t cut corners or chase quick profits. We prefer happy customers.
  • We stand by honesty and integrity.  That’s why we’re affiliated with the Retail Motor Industry Federation, an organisation that aims to improve the standards of the motor industry.

Retail Motor Industry Federation (RMI)

RMI Membership Number: 84805

We have been members of the RMI (formally the Motor Agents Association) since the beginnings of our business. The aim of the RMI is to raise standards throughout the industry through quality control schemes and lifetime learning training programs. We abide by the Codes of Practice set by the RMI and pride ourselves on providing high quality, value-for-money services.


Fairtrades Membership Number: S0000093

We are a fully vetted member of the Fairtrades association and have been since 1994. Fairtrades promotes a fair service from its members, as its name suggests. Stringent legal and financial checks are carried out before a member is endorsed.

The Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (VOSA)

VOSA Test Station Number: 79959

We are a fully registered and licensed VOSA MOT testing station. VOSA aims to improve the roadworthiness standards of vehicles, by ensuring the compliance of operators and drivers and supporting the independent Traffic Commissioners.

Safety Kleen

We are fully committed to working in an environmentally responsible way and subscribe to Safety Kleens Waste Carepoint services. This makes sure that all waste materials produced by our workshops are recycled or re-used in line with the best environmental practise. This includes all waste oil, fuel, brake fluid, antifreeze, oil filters, batteries, tyres and all other solvents used.


All vehicles that we buy and sell are checked using HPI to ensure that vehicles are completely legal and above board. An HPI check confirms whether a vehicle has outstanding car finance, is recorded as stolen, clocked or has previously been written-off. HPI’s used car check also confirms many other details, including the make, model, colour, door plan, and engine size.

The Right to Repair Campaign

The Right to Repair Campaign was created by the independent automotive aftermarket in response to potential changes in legislation in Europe that could drive all repair work into the vehicle manufacturer’s franchised dealerships.

Block Exemption Regulations (BER) have now been introduced to give the consumer the freedom to choose where he/she had his car maintained without affecting manufacturer’s warranties so long as original parts or parts of matching quality had been fitted by the repairer. To enable repairs to be made, the vehicle assembler under the new BER should make technical information freely available to the independent market. So you can now have you car repaired and serviced at S F Tebby & Son without the hassle of relying on main dealers and still maintain the full manufacturer’s warranty.
